Van der Filk - The 22nd UK national Filk convention

When: Friday 5th to Sunday 7th February 2010
Where: In Grantham, Lincolnshire, at the Grantham Ramada Hotel - as used for 1812tone, 2t0nic and aXXIdental.
UK guest: Gwen Knighton Raftery.
International Guests: Vixy & Tony.

HarmUni - A second UK Filk Convention

HarmUni is a small filk con run in association with the annual UniCon.
HarmUni 4 will run as as part of Constitution at Murray Edwards College (ex New Hall), Cambridge on 31st July-2 August 2009.
The Guest of Honour is Sibylle Machat.

FilkCONtinental - The German Filk Convention

Our German friends also run a convention every year. The next one is FilkCONtinental 2009 which will be held on Friday 9th to Sunday 11th October at Freusburg Castle Youth Hostel, near Freudenberg and Siegen.

The guests of honour are Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff from the USA. Online registration is now open.

Lots of great songs, lots of fun, lots of hugs. Nearly everyone speaks very good English, and a lot of the songs are in English. There is a strong contingent from the UK there every year.

If you want to get there by train, there is an excellent German Trains web site. Check your travel details there first. The Eurostar web site is not nearly as good!

DFDF - Das Frühlingsfest der Filksmusik - A second German Filk Convention

DFDF will be running for a second yeaqr. This will be on 11th-13th June 2010 in Bad Salzdetfurth, Germany (near Hanover). The guests are Summer & Fall.

Eastercon

The UK national SF convention is held each year over the Easter weekend. There is always some filking there, though the amount can vary a lot.
The 2010 Eastercon is Odyssey 2010 Friday 2nd to Monday 5th April 2008 near Heathrow.
There was no bid for the 2011 Eastercon at the 2009 con. This is still being sorted out.
